Warranty details are as follows:
The entire roofing system is warranted for 50 years and NON pro rated for the first 40 years. ( The shingle on your roof now is likely 25 years shingle non pro rated for the first 5 years, meaning in the first 5 years, the roof is 100% warrantied, but afterwards, replacement values declines as time goes on)
If by chance there is a defect found, the labour to correct the problem is included. (No other warranty on the market will include the labour to correct the problem.)
The warranty is transferable at no cost in the first 20 years, should you choose to sell your home.
Finally, the warranty is registered with GAF who have been manufacturing shingles for over 125 years (Documentation will arrive in the mail within three weeks of completing the work) So there is no need to worry whether the company that has done the work remains in business.
